A KITCHEN, WITH LOVE
THE BRIEF
We were able to change quite a few elements on this initial spec house plan, but the kitchen layout was more or less set. We had to get creative with textures, colour and freestanding elements.
THE DETAILS
We love the contrast between the raw brick and white ceramic tiles, layed vertically so that they don’t compete with the bricks. We added different wall shelves from Weylandts, to add variety to the storage and display options. Plantation shutters were custom made to match the cupboards, and a giant light fitting completely fills the empty space above the island, leaving space only for conversation.

THE ISLAND
This element is the heart of the house. From any seat, you are connected to the rest of the living areas, the wine storage, the patio and the view. Designing it was n tight squeeze, creating maximum seating, with practical storage and the necessary support for the heavy steel & neolith top.
Our design team carefully modeled the unit in 3D, and literally mapped it onto the floor on site before production.
We paired two stool designs from Dark Horse around the island, to allow practical and comfortable seating options. The leather works beautifully with the brick detail.
Lastly, a custom designed dinner set is displayed with other textures, inviting you to sit there for hours.
